Kuno National Park has three gates, but right now safaris run from two of them — Tiktoli and Ahera. Each is reached by a different road, so the best gate for you depends on where you are coming from.

1

Tiktoli Gate

Reached from Sheopur, via Sesaipura.

Best for: Kota, Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore) and Sheopur

Our safaris start here
2

Ahera Gate

Reached from the Pohri side (Shivpuri district).

Best for: Gwalior, Shivpuri, Indore and Bhopal

3

Peepalbawdi Gate

Reached from the Morena / Vijaypur side.

Not open to tourists yet — the approach road and small bridges are still being built

1. Tiktoli Gate — for Kota, Sawai Madhopur & Sheopur

Tiktoli Gate is reached from Sheopur via Sesaipura. It is the gate we recommend for visitors coming from Kota and Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore), and for anyone staying in Sheopur. All Saniya Travels safaris start from Tiktoli Gate — you can meet us at the gate, or choose our package with pickup & drop from Sheopur.

2. Ahera Gate — for Gwalior, Shivpuri, Indore & Bhopal

Ahera Gate is approached from the Pohri side in Shivpuri district. Tourists coming from Gwalior, Shivpuri, Indore or Bhopal usually find Ahera Gate the more convenient entry, as it saves the longer drive round to Sheopur.

Please note: Saniya Travels does not run or book safaris from Ahera Gate. We operate only from Tiktoli Gate. If you'd like to go on safari with us, plan your route via Sheopur to Tiktoli Gate.

3. Peepalbawdi Gate — not open yet

Peepalbawdi Gate is on the Morena / Vijaypur side. It has not been opened for tourist safaris yet: the approach road is still incomplete and a few small bridges (culverts) are still being built. We will update this page when it opens.

Which Kuno gate is best?

  • Coming from Kota or Sawai Madhopur / Ranthambore? Choose Tiktoli Gate.
  • Staying in Sheopur? Choose Tiktoli Gate — it's where we run our Gypsy safaris with ticket and guide included.
  • Coming from Gwalior, Shivpuri, Indore or Bhopal? Ahera Gate is usually closer (note: we don't book Ahera Gate safaris — to ride with us, come to Tiktoli Gate via Sheopur).
